I’ve mic’d up and mixed hundreds of drum kits, guitar amps, basses, and vocalists. From that experience, I’ve formed techniques to…
- Take a snare that folds into a mix and make it punch and cut through
That’s what revisions are for. The process is designed to get you to a final mix you’re confident releasing, not rush you out the door. With that being said, clear communication about vision, reference songs, and your feedback all ensure we’re aiming at the same target from the start to the finish.
That’s common — especially for independent bands. Most bands come to me when they realize the mix is the final barrier between their songs and being taken seriously by fans, playlists, and industry listeners. A label-quality mix doesn’t just make your music sound better — it reduces the risk of releasing something that holds your band back.
Great mixes don’t require perfect recordings — they require intentional ones. If something truly needs fixing, I’ll tell you before we start. In most cases, a strong mix elevates solid performances and arrangements far more than waiting endlessly for “perfect” tracks.
It can vary. At the beginning of the process, we can talk about your timeline and release date goals. I do my best to tailor my timeline based on each band's needs.
I have EQ, compression, and sampling techniques that I’ve developed over 20 years of full time studio work obsessing over tones, not just in mixing, but in recording as well. Because of this experience, my knowledge of your genre, and my specialization in mixing it; I can achieve far better results than the generalist who may not understand or be into your style of music.
It’s a powerful tool to achieve a desired sound… if done right. I’ll use them when it’s in line with the band's ethos and vision. At the end of the day, nailing your intended sound is my top priority.
Yep. I digitally capture amps through my high end studio signal chain and use the captures to reamp with amazing results. Let’s talk guitar tones, and find a solution that works for you.
